Priceless

January 18th, 2010

image-1

We have recently become the Australian agents for a jeweller from the UK named Sarah Sheridan.

She has had a very successful design practice in Brighton since 1995.  Currently she is making just one very unique item called ‘Priceless’.  This is a blank hallmarked silver price tag on polished cotton presented in post-able packaging with a space left for senders to tell the recipient that they’re ‘priceless’.

We think it’s a great product and can’t wait to spread the word.

Please contact us if you’re interested in stocking Priceless.

Recycled Depression era glass Fowler jar pendant lights

December 2nd, 2009

Joseph Fowler set up a fruit bottling business in Burke Road, Melbourne in the early 1900’s and he sold his preserving kits door to door from the back of a cart until he opened a shop in Hawthorn in 1920.  During the Depression ‘Fowler Kits’ which included a sterilizer, bottles, lids, rings and a thermometer, became a household name as house wives were urged to bottle their own fruit and jams by ‘Mrs B Thrifty’ – the cartoon character who graced the firms advertisements.

Manufacturing technics of the time formed jars with their own individual imperfections and character making no two lights the same and creating unique illumination.

Bakelite fittings with 2.5 m cotton sheathed cord and 25watt globe. Available in 4 different sizes/colours. Commission for Melbourne store Husks Christmas windows. Available at Husk or from us. Prices on Application.

Wendy House Teepee by Leila Sanderson for Greg Hatton Designs

Inspired by a Northern England description of a cubby house – the Wendy House Teepee is made from hand stitched recycled yacht sailcloth and poplar stick poles. Complete with hand stitched army blanket/sailcloth reversible ground sheet and drawstring carry bag. Poles approximately 170 cm in height and ground sheet 115 cm square. Light to carry around and simple to erect.

Each one is a numbered limited edition and totally unique. The patterns already present on the sail dictate the final design stitched onto it, therefore no two are a like. For a very limited time purchasers can choose from either a window or cat/small dog flap included in their teepee. Made to order. Prices starting from $580.

Made for play outside or indoors, they also look beautiful illuminated. Kids vintage animal nightlights and other accessories available. Please contact us for more info.
